Go, Giants! The Pickwick’s Top 5 Giants Baseball Game Tips

Giants BaseballSummer is here and baseball season is in full swing! A favorite pastime of San Francisco residents and visitors alike is to head out to beautiful AT&T Park to take in the sights and watch a Giants baseball game. Below are The Pickwick Hotel’s top 5 tips for attending a baseball game at AT&T Park:

1. Buy Tickets Early
With three World Series wins in the last five years, the Giants are a very popular baseball team these days and games can sell out. Buy tickets in advance if you can. If tickets are no longer available via the Giants website, Goldstar is a good ticket-purchasing option.

2. Dress in Layers.
San Francisco’s weather tends to have tremendous mood swings. It may be warm and sunny when you head to the ballpark but could be foggy and cold by the time the game ends. Though hot chocolate is sold at the ballpark on cold days, this won’t be enough to keep you warm! Be sure to pack a sweatshirt.

3. Come Hungry.
AT&T Park boasts some of the best ballpark food in the country and features cuisine from many local restaurants. From gourmet franks to sushi, there is something for everyone here. On a budget? Stop at Subway Sandwiches on the way and supplement your meal with garlic fries instead.

4. Bring a Camera.
As a result of AT&T Park’s fantastic location, attendees have a chance to soak up beautiful downtown and bay views in addition to watching the baseball game.

5. Don’t Drive.
Parking near AT&T Park costs anywhere between $30 and $100 on game days. Save money and frustration by walking from a downtown BART station or riding Muni’s N or T Lines to the ballpark’s front door.

If you’re staying at The Pickwick Hotel on game day, why not walk? AT&T Park is less than a mile-and-a-half from The Pickwick Hotel. And the terrain between The Pickwick and AT&T Park is flat–a rarity in San Francisco!
